Catch up on the Hotel Transylvania series on its fourth instalment debut week

A star-studded cast, super graphics, a unique plot, and lots of laughs… such was the legacy of Hotel Transylvania when it first started. But the spark has dulled since then, and now with the fourth movie out, people are asking just one question – did a mediocre franchise need a fourth movie?

Are you a cold-blooded monster or a warm-blooded human? If you’re former, then come on in as Hotel Transylvania is a haven for all monsters to live it up, away from the monstrous world of the humans. Now Dracula has built this lavish five-star resort tucked away from the humans and he has his guard up around homo sapiens. But he is not just a Dracula feared by many, he is a dad who is over-protective of his teenage daughter, Mavis. He spews webs of lies about humans, making them up to be evil, to protect his daughter, and cutting down her adventurous spirit. The resort is home to some of the most famous monsters like Frankenstein and his bride, the Mummy, and Invisible Man. Just when he thinks all is perfect in the normal world, an ordinary human stumbles into his hide-out sweeping Mavis off her feet.

Hotel Transylvania 2 is the second installment and shows Mavis and Johnny in their marital bliss, with a cute kiddo named Dennis. Of course, he is half-human and half-vampire. While Mr. Drac pushes for Dennis to take after his maternal hereditary, Mavis wants things to play out on their own, and Johnny… well, Johnny doesn’t care much. Mavis moves out to the city miffed with her obsessive father. Things get out of control when Dracula takes Dennis out to turn him into a vampire without Mavis’s permission and Dracula’s orthodox father (who’s unaware of Dennis semi-demon status) Vlad shows up forcing Dracula to keep up the monster façade of Dennis.

Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation is the third installment in the franchise that was released in 2018. It’s about the stoic Dracula falling in love with Ericka. All is good until it’s revealed that Ericka is a descendent of a monster hunter Van Helsing and is his accomplice leaving Dracula heart broken, all this while on a cruise ship with his family.

Hotel Transylvania: Transformania

Hotel Transylvania: Tranformania is the final movie in the Hotel Transylvania franchise and the plot revolves around Johnny and Dracula messing up by turning into monsters and humans respectively. The rest of the movie follows these two struggling to swap back to their original form and finding a cure before time runs out and the transformation becomes permanent.
