Get your groove on!

The show started with a massive hit of nostalgia. Primetime Emmy Awards paid homage to the old TV shows and their theme songs with dancers grooving on the stage. The tribute to Friends is something I can never forget. Speaking of unforgettable moments that are seared into my brain I am reminded of the host of this prestigious award show Kenan Thompson. Thompson walked onto the stage with the Game of Thrones dancers while rocking a Targaryen wig. That’s a sight one cannot forget that easily, I surely can't and now I am left with mixed feelings about the start of the show.

Batman is a class apart!

Batman graced the Emmy Awards 2022 and took the first Emmy of the night. Micheal Keaton received the award for Hulu’s “Dopesick” and his acceptance speech might have been more dope than the show itself. I love speeches that have personal stories in them. That is why I loved Micheal Keaton’s speech. He shared a funny and heart-touching story about his family. He also appreciated his mistakes and said “I’m glad I’ve made a fool of myself over and over again.” One thing I have learned in my life is to always respect a man who embraces his own mistakes.

It was just a matter of time!

If you are really passionate about something you put in all your efforts, your time, your everything into it, and when all that hard work bears fruit that is a feeling like no other. We witnessed something similar when Abbott Elementary star Sheryl Lee Ralph won an Emmy for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. The look on her face when her name was announced was priceless and still cannot forget her words “to anyone who has ever, ever had a dream and thought your dreams weren't, wouldn’t, couldn’t come true, I am here to tell you that this is what believing looks like.” Certainly very powerful words.

When in doubt, just dance!

It was a big night for Jennifer Coolidge too as she won an Emmy award for her standout performance in HBO’s “The White Lotus”. We know it was a big night for her as we could see she was so emotional that even speaking was a struggle at that time. But the producers tried to play her off as she was giving her thanks. If you ask me I felt like it was not very cool of the producers to do so but nothing could stop Jennifer Coolidge from enjoying her moment as she simply started to dance. Well might not be the speech she was looking for but the moment is memorable for sure.

Royally painful!

It was a huge night for HBO as their media-empire drama “Succession” bagged the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series. When it came to the acceptance speech, the creator of the show Jesse Armstrong took the opportunity to take some jabs at his home country, the United Kingdom. The British author referred to the death of Queen Elizabeth II and the succession of her son, King Charles III, and said “Big week for successions.” Yikes! The painful speech did not end there; rather it kept on moving” keep it royalist”.

Oliver and the tale of awkwardness!

Award shows and awkwardness go hand in hand, I mean if you are in the entertainment business we are bound to ruffle some feathers every now and then, especially if you have a late-night talk show. John Oliver got a taste of that after his show Last Week Tonight won the Emmy for Outstanding Variety Talk Series. All the awkwardness revolved around John Oliver’s takedown of the Law & Order and the fact that Law and Order was part of Kenan Thompson's opening number did not help. To make things worse Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay made an appearance as presenters. John Oliver acknowledged the awkwardness later in the press room and laughed about it.

That is all we have for you from the 2022 Primetime Emmy Awards but don’t forget our little game. So, comment down below which 2022 Emmy moments you thought were good, bad, and straight-up creepy.
