Johnny Depp is back on the screen and he doesn't need Hollywood anymore!

After his infamous win in his defamation case against Amber, Johnny Depp finally starred in his first film after a long time. And Johnny Depp finally made a rare appearance to answer a few questions after the premier of “Jeanne du Barry”. In the film, Johnny Depp plays King Louis XV. And like many of his fans I also eagerly waited for Johnny Depp to make his comeback in acting. But we had to be patient because after what happened with his ex-wife everyone knew he would take some time off.

His legal battle with Amber Heard cost him a lot but finally, in 2022 Johnny Depp won and Amber Heard was asked to pay him $10 million in damages because it was proved Heard lied about Depp abusing her during their marriage.

While talking to the reporters Johnny Depp told the reporters,” Did I feel boycotted by Hollywood? You’d have to not have a pulse to feel like,’ No. None of this is happening. It’s a weird joke.” Johnny Depp has been a part of many successful movie franchises and he lost a lot because of the allegations made by his ex-wife he lost almost all the work he had. Talking about that he said,” When you are asked to resign from a film you’re doing because of something that is merely a function of vowels and consonants floating in the air, yes, you feel boycotted.”

Johnny Depp was asked to resign from the “Fantastic Beasts” franchise which was a spin-off of the “Harry Potter” franchise. That surely left him feeling betrayed and now Depp has made it clear he is not willing to take up any studio projects. The tables have certainly turned from being asked to step down from a major role to taking the decision of not getting involved in any studio project Depp had a hell of a ride. A ride that was definitely not an easy one.

The “Jeanne du Barry” press conference started without Johnny Depp but as soon as he arrived he took the spotlight. And Depp really opened up about how he felt when the whole world was against him. And it was only fitting that he spoke about that in the press conference of the film he’s making a comeback with. A lot has been written about Johnny Depp in recent times and Depp described them as “fantastically, horrifically written fiction.” And I do agree with Depp.

But now putting all the hate behind Depp has decided to do what he loves to do the most, act. And Cannes gave him the platform he needed. “Jeanne du Barry” opened up on Tuesday in French cinemas but as of now it still doesn’t have US distribution. But hopefully, it will be running in the US pretty soon. Personally, I am excited to see Depp’s future projects and hopefully, he will move us all with his great acting.
