Prince Harry and Meghan Markle barely survived their New York car chase or did they?

Paparazzi sometimes really cross their limits when they are after a celebrity for their picture. But they might have done the worst this time. Paparazzis in Manhattan chased Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for more than two hours. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle both have called the incident a “near catastrophic” one. The couple even compared it to the 1997 fatal crash of Princess Diana. But the cops seem to disagree with the couple. Although the car chase was unfortunate, the cops said the couple was being a little too dramatic about it.

The high-profile couple attended an event at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in Midtown on Tuesday night and when they left the event they found themselves being chased by “a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi”. The couple found themselves in a “relentless pursuit” and I want to bring it up again that all this happened only for a few pictures.

A spokesperson for the couple issued a statement regarding the incident which took place on Tuesday night. The spokesperson said, “This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians, and two NYPD officers.” I don’t know why the cops said Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were being dramatic about the ordeal. From the statement made by the spokesperson, it sure sounds serious. Mayor Eric Adams also talked about the incident in an unrelated incident and branded it as “reckless and irresponsible”. He also brought up Harry's mom Diana and said “I don’t think there’s many of us who don’t recall how his mom died.”

The NYPD is investigating the incident and also in a statement said the entire ordeal might have been hectic but overall it was a controlled scene. A spokesperson for the NYPD in a statement said, “The NYPD assisted the private security team protecting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Numerous photographers made their transport challenging. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at their destination and there were no reported collisions, summonses, injuries, or arrests in regard.” One source even said the chase was not two hours long and there were no 911 calls made during the incident. So, is the couple blowing it out of proportion, or are the cops playing it down.

Writer and photographer Lieba Nesis was the eyewitness to the whole incident and might help us all understand the severity of the entire incident. She mentioned the couple were dodging paparazzi all night long. Many paparazzi were waiting for hours to get a picture of the couple but they avoided the paparazzi and were leaving through a secret entrance and that left paparazzi with no picture. She also mentioned that the paparazzi were “ aggressive but not crazy”.

But another eyewitness revealed that the couple’s security was making fun of the paparazzi and that might have been the reason the photographers got so aggressive. Some photographers also said that it was the couple’s driver who was driving carelessly. This incident has a lot of different stories from different sides. But what do you think actually happened, comment down your thoughts.
