Rebel Wilson faces serious backlash for her new clothing line, but was it all justified?

Rebel Wilson after her “Year of health” has had a massive transformation. Someone who is not following her might not even recognize her recent pictures. She has lost a ton of weight and looks as fabulous as ever but the 42 year old actress is receiving some serious heat. The actress along with her girlfriend Ramona Agruma launched their clothing line R&R Club. R&R Club is a line of loungewear recently introduced by the actress and her partner but the public seem to be a little pissed about the launch. Why, you ask? Before we dive into that let us look into the clothing line a bit first.

The actress marketed her new clothing line as a very exclusive line, it’s not me who is saying that. The brand itself is described as “a very exclusive capsule collection and while talking about the stock the stocks were described as being “super limited. You know someone is working real hard on marketing when they say their stocks are “super limited” instead of saying their stocks are just limited. I guess you have to market your product harder when you are just selling a white hoodie with matching sweatpants at the price of $244 and $204 respectively. Those are some steep prices.

But the prices offered by Rebel Wilson in her clothing line was not the only thing that riled up the people. The public were deeply disappointed as Rebel Wilson’s brand did not have size inclusivity. R&R Club is offering XS as their smallest size and L/XL as their biggest size. This did not sit well with the people and they swarmed social media with their opinions. One Instagram user wrote “Way to be inclusive in sizing considering all the plus-sized people who support you. Disappointed”. While another wrote “You mean to tell me all this time as a plus size woman and now you lose weight and your clothes only go up to an XL? Yikes”.

Backlash from her fans are justified considering Rebel Wilson spent most of her career as a plus size actress and rose to fame with her role as “Fat Amy” in the 2011 film “Pitch Perfect” So it was obvious the fans did not take kindly when her clothing line did not have size inclusivity. Her fans did not hesitate to remind her of her plus size days. One user wrote “As a woman who used to be plus size, you think you would have made more inclusive sizing. I’m disappointed.”

So do you think someone who spent so much time as a plus-sized actress should have been more thoughtful when it came to size inclusivity. Comment down below.
