Rihanna is being seriously overhyped but what is the reason behind it?

Rihanna is currently pregnant with her second child and it is not the only great thing going for her. She has also been nominated for the Academy Award for the first time. Rihanna is nominated for her song “Lift Me Up” and she is all set to perform it at the 95th annual awards show. Rihanna “announced” the same by sharing a picture of her crying firstborn as she prepares for her performance. Rihanna posted the picture with the caption “My son when he found out his sibling is going to the Oscars and not him.”

Rihanna’s post also featured a video of her 9-month-old seeing the music video for “Lift Me Up” which was featured in the blockbuster Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The track is also a tribute track to the late Chadwick Boseman who was the original Black Panther in the MCU. Chadwick Boseman, unfortunately, passed away due to colon cancer at the age of 43. Rihanna got nominated for the tributary song as the Best Original Song.

Rihanna’s post got swarmed with adorable comments from Rihanna’s friends. Viola Davis and Cara Delevinge raved about how cute Rakim was looking in the picture and Gigi Hadid commented,” Can’t wait mommmyyyy”. Recently it feels like everyone is talking about Rihanna but where did it all start? It all started with Rihanna’s live performance at the Super Bowl LVII which had a special cameo, Rihanna’s second child! Well, not in a literal sense but in the Halftime Show Rihanna graced the stage in a red look while displaying her baby bump.

After that it was all Rihanna everywhere everyone was buzzing with how amazing Rihanna’s Super Bowl performance was. Many found it inspiring and even recreated the same. One of the most notable was the ladies of Arcadia Senior Living from Kentucky. The senior ladies from Bowling Green, Kentucky recreated their version of Rihanna’s Superbowl halftime performance and went viral on social media for the same. To be honest it’s really empowering to see ladies living out of senior living homes getting inspired by someone’s performance and creating their own version and putting it on social media for the entire world to see. Their efforts did not go unnoticed and Rihanna sent the ladies flowers in appreciation. It was certainly very sweet of Rihanna.

But was the performance that good? While many loved it and got inspired by Rihanna’s performance many did not mince their words while talking about Rihanna’s performance. And Bill Goldberg was one of them. While Goldberg appeared as a guest on the CarCast podcast with Matt ‘Motorator’ D’Andria, Goldberg was asked what he thought about Rihanna’s performance at the Superbowl. As I said some did not mince words when it came to talking about Rihanna’s performance and Goldberg was one of them. He called Rihanna’s performance “horrible” and he is not the only one who did not like her performance. Former President Donald Trump is also on the list of people who criticized Rihanna’s performance at the Superbowl.

The people are divided and Rihanna is still in the trend. Is it just people overhyping her and her pregnancy or do you think it’s completely irrelevant? What do you think? Comment down below.
