Top 6 April Fool’s Pranks that won’t get you fired

April Fool’s Day is coming and it’s time to make your HR reconsider declaring the day a Holiday to avoid the chaos we’re going to create in the workplace. There’s a certain craft to pranking your colleagues – you want to make sure it’s not too embarrassing or invasive. So, here are some mind-blowing ideas you’ll pass on to your future generations of corporate geeks.

Plastic Wrapped Doorway

Whether it’s the main door, your office door, or the bathroom door, it can be hysterical watching a co-worker bounce off! This prank is most effective in a dimly lit space to avoid glare spoiling the surprise. Sometimes just a strip waist-high does the trick and goes most easily undetected.

Dead Mouse

Don’t worry, no real animals will be harmed in the making of this prank. Position a sticker at the bottom of the computer mouse – whether it’s a laser mouse or ball-rolling mouse, the tape/sticker will hinder the movement detection making the mouse appear dead. Once they decide to check what’s wrong, they will flip the mouse to look at it – make sure “April Fool’s Day” is written on it.

Held Ransom

Hide a priced possession of a co-worker and leave a ransom note in its place asking for your favorite chocolate for its safe return. You decode the terms like meeting place, time, and procedure.

QWERTY Keyboard Nomore

Most people type on their keyboards without really seeing it as they know the arrangement of the letters at the back of their minds. Re-arrange the keys off the keyboard so it spells out April Fool’s and see how long it takes for the co-worker to realize it.

Biggest Fan in the Office

Deck your co-worker’s or boss’s cubicle or desk with posters of a celebrity they don’t really like – usually Justin Bieber does the job. Imagine the look on their face when they are made to look like a fangirl or group to a celebrity they despise with passion in reality.

Biggest Fan on the Road

Buy some car-markers, and decorate the unsuspecting victim’s vehicle with declarations of fanship or something equally as outrageous… I’m thinking, “JUSTIN BIEBER’S #1 FAN!” or something of the like. Imagine your co-worker’s surprise when s/he thinks s/he has made it through the day without being pranked… only to find his or her vehicle decorated. But then having to drive it home or to the car wash? That’s priceless.
