Is world’s most expensive dessert worth it?

Expensive-icecreams-in-the-world

Would you dare spend a quarter of your annual income savoring an ice cream? As ridiculous as that sounds, there are people who blow 25,000 USD on a single sundae. What you gonna do? There’s always place in your belly for dessert, isn’t it sweet toothers? After all, the heart wants what it wants. So, what earns this Frrrozen Haute Chocolate ice cream sundae the Guinness World Record for being most expensive dessert? Grab a spoon, let’s dive in.

Let’s start with the name - ‘Frrrozen’, really? Man, even the name’s gotta be extra. Of course, throw in a French word in there and you’ve got yourself a posh nomenclature monsieur – haute couture, haute cuisine, haute cereal… see what I mean?

Let’s break down the ingredients. The dessert uses a fine blend of 28 cocoa beans – yep just cocoa, not magic beans surprisingly – including 14 of the world’s most expensive and rare kinds. So a Lil disclaimer before I get to this next part – we’re still discussing the dessert and not the queen’s jewelry collection. The sundae is garnished with 5g of edible gold and is plated on a literal goblet, also decorated with gold. Wait for it, now the base of this goblet is an 18 karat bracelet with 1 carat of white diamonds.

Every heard the impression ‘born with a silver spoon’? This dessert was born with a golden spoon, which is what you use to eat it with. The spoon itself is decorated with white and chocolate-colored diamonds. Now this I kinda dig, wonder if we get to keep it!

The master-mind behind this extravagant creation? Serendipity 3 Restaurant, New York, USA.

Now we all do crazy things for the love of food, but will I travel all the way to New York and go bankrupt for it?  Probably, not! But hey, that’s just me – you do you, foodie!
