Quizlet Live is a platform where you can organize different games for your students and see their progress with various assessment tools. Quizlet also offers you two different modes: a Teams mode and an Individual mode. The names are self-explanatory in Teams mode the students will work together and in Individual mode, they will be competing against each other.

You might be wondering how much work you have to do. I mean it does sound hard, to choose a topic and then design a game for the kids. But in reality, it is really easy, all you have to do is create a study set or choose a study set from your library and click on Live. Quizlet Live will create a game for your students to play and you are all set for a fun-filled learning session.

Let’s play Team modes

If you are planning a Teams mode then you will need a minimum of 4 players. To start a Teams mode game on Quizlet Live first you need to log into your teacher account and choose a study set. Select Live and choose Class live to get started. You can select Random Teams to begin. But one crucial thing you have to consider before starting is that you have to make sure to choose a set of prompts and answers which will help your students to answer and you in evaluation. Once you have set all the prompts and answers you are all set.

All the students can join the game with a joining code and if you want to mix up then you can randomize the teams. Also if you want to change the teams then you can reshuffle them at any point you please. The players or as you might know then as students can be removed from any team but you cannot do that once the mode begins. So a pro tip is to always double-check the student list before you begin the quiz or what your students might call “The Game”.

Individual mode!

Quizlet Live also has an individual mode which might be something you want to dabble in especially when you want to evaluate your students individually. For individual mode you will need a minimum of two players and your students can join by scanning the QR code. Setting up the individual mode in Quizlet Live is pretty straightforward, just log into your Quizlet teacher account and select a study set. Once you have the study set selected just click on Live, select Create a game, and select Individuals. Almost there, ask your students to join and start the game.

Paid or Free?

Quizlet Live does offer a free plan but like every other free service, it comes with limited features is the Premium worth it. So I took the liberty to look into all the features added in the Premium Quizlet Live and this is what I found. Tracking any student’s progress is very easy with the premium version. You can create unlimited classes and get rid of any ads so your students can focus on the lesson at hand. Make your classes more interactive with multi-point diagrams. Creating sets with the Premium is also very easy as you can add scanned documents. The cherry on the cake is your students can work through problems with step-by-step solutions from over 10000 textbooks.

How to start a round of Checkpoint?

  • First log in to your teacher account
  • Choose a study set
