17 Ridiculous yet Funny Menu Items Around the World

Theoretically, dining in a restaurant is a basic and simple job: You select a dish, consume the dish, and pay for the meal — end of the story.

However, in reality, that's not how it goes down, does it?

Hey, are you going to finish... whatever is that? This is what reality is usually like when we go to a restaurant!

Fast food restaurants around the globe have humiliated themselves and insulted their customers through mindless mashups and funny menu items, ill-conceived seasonal tributes, and irreconcilable detours from their basic offers. Here are some of the most ludicrous food creations in the history of fast food. Bon appetit.

Doughnut Fried Chicken Sandwich (KFC)

Between this, the Chizza, and the Double Down, it's clear that KFC either 1) really enjoys sandwiching things between non-bread items or 2) they ran out of bread. The 2019 introduction of KFC's Doughnut Fried Chicken Sandwich eliminated the need for awkward utensils when consuming 1,000 calories of chicken and waffles. Replace the waffles with donuts and the maple syrup with sugar glaze and you have one of their most lethal menu options.

The Greek Mac

According to the McDonald’s website, the Greek Mac is: “A Greek classic! Two juicy beef patty’s with lemon sauce, onions, lettuce, and sliced tomatoes wrapped together in pita bread, with tzatziki [yogurt] sauce.” And another oddity is the fact that Big Greek is only available in Greece and neighboring Cyprus. Which is akin to a burger joint limiting a new pizza item to Italy.

The Doritos Crunchy Crust Pizza From Pizza Hut

The Doritos Crunchy Crust Pizza is a mix of Italian and Mexican food that makes fun of both. It has a mozzarella cheese-filled crust layered with nacho cheese Doritos chips and cheddar cheese. The Doritos layer isn't just a few crumbs. Instead, it's full of chips stacked on top of each other so that you can stuff your face with both the Doritos and the bread and cheese they're on.

KFC's Chizza

Putting something that usually has bread in it but doesn't have bread? Sounds like a job for KFC. The Independent called the Chizza a "low-calorie, high-protein" pizza. The Chizza is one of KFC's bread-substituting bonanzas with the best name but least appealing taste. It's pretty much what it sounds like: fried chicken covered with mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce and shaped (sort of) like a pizza. It's basically what would happen if a cracker from Kentucky was given the job of making Italian food.

Thickburger

Carl's Jr. and Hardee's, which are sister restaurants, made the Most American Thickburger in 2015 as a tribute to the classic, artery-clogging American food. The greasy cheeseburger was between a hot dog and a layer of Lays potato chips. Pickles, lettuce, tomato, ketchup, and mustard were also on the sandwich. Also, it kind of looked like the average American, which was a nice touch.

The Meatatarian Burger (Burger King)

In 2016, Burger King's Meatless Range came out in New Zealand. The three-burger set included the deliciously suggestive Full Meaty, the flexible Half Meaty, and the versatile Bacon Meaty. The Full Meaty stood out because it had two beef patties, a chicken patty, six bacon strips, two cheese slices, barbecue sauce, and onions. In the Half Meaty, one of the beef patties is taken out. In the Bacon Meaty, both beef patties are taken out and replaced with an extra layer of chicken.

Kit Kat Chocoladilla (Taco Bell)

The worst thing you can eat at Taco Bell was saved for last. Its Kit Kat Chocoladilla boldly asks, "Why not end your fourth meal with a chocolate sandwich?" Imagine a large, soft tortilla spread with a chocolate sauce that tastes like Nutella and filled with chocolate chips and bits of Kit Kat bars. If you believe that it has 329 calories, I can sell you a chocolate-covered, tortilla-wrapped bridge in Brooklyn.

The Double Down Sandwich (KFC)

You might ask, "What's the Double Down?" Well, it's pretty simple: take two fast food favorites, bacon, and cheese, add something suspiciously named "Colonel's Sauce," and put it all between two huge pieces of Original Recipe fried chicken. The Double Down only has 540 calories, which is about the same as a Big Mac from McDonald's. But the details are where the devil (and diabetes) are: cholesterol: 145 milligrams (more than twice the Big Mac)

Outback Steakhouse’s “Chocolate Thunder From Down Under®"

Well, do we have to say anything? this is just an inappropriate use of words there is absolutely no other way to describe it.

Cracker Barrel‘s “Uncle Herschel’s Favorite®”

Uncle Herschel was a real person and a real uncle, but the name of this breakfast is so creepy that we won't be able to order it. Also, the portion seems big enough that it should come with an appointment with a cardiologist.

Quesadilla Explosion Salad

Chili's "Quesadilla Explosion Salad" Even though the idea of a quesadilla salad was already silly, they had to add Jerry Bruckheimer to it. You want to know what a "quesadilla explosion" is. "Chicken marinated in fajita seasoning, mixed cheese, corn relish, cilantro, diced tomato, crispy tortilla strips, and a drizzle of ancho-chile ranch. Served with cheese quesadilla wedges that have been grilled over a fire with citrus-balsamic dressing." Sounds pretty good, but do we have to say "quesadilla explosion" when we order it?

In early 2010, Burger King Japan introduced this one of the funny meals, a  burger on an anime character. It included two black buns, their regular beef patty, a hash brown, and a special sauce.  And how can we skip that giant piece of bacon striking out of it to look like a tongue? That piece made this burger even more unique.

17. Burger King – Angriest Whopper

Our last item is another funny food from Burger King, US Burger King introduced this Angriest Whopper Burger in 2016. Each traditional Whopper patty was sandwiched between two red buns, and the buns even had hot sauce baked into them. The rest of the burger was pretty basic like any other Burger King burger, though they did top it with jalapeños and a spicy sauce.
